YOGA ROUTINE

This 15-Minute Morning Yoga Routine Will Get You Started On The Right Foot

There is no better way to start the day, in my opinion, than with a morning yoga exercise. The appropriate flow of postures always helps me connect into my breath and body, whether I need to settle myself or feel more invigorated.

Yoga is a very effective practise for anybody battling with anxiety or depression, and I find that doing yoga before busy or stressful days helps me feel more balanced and centred.

Furthermore, according to studies published in Plos One, mind-body treatments such as yoga have been demonstrated to lower inflammation and improve the immune system.

And, in case you're wondering, a morning yoga routine will also push your body (chair position is no joke! ), allowing you to go through your day feeling emotionally and physically strong—and more flexible. It begins with some warm-up postures, progresses through a vinyasa sequence that you'll repeat on each side, and finally comes to a close.

Time given : 15 minutes

EQUIPMENT : MAT

INSTRUCTIONS : Flow from posture to stance as stated below, holding and inhaling as needed. After completing postures 5–12 on the right side, repeat on the left before continuing. Make this exercise all on moving instinctively. Keep your movements gradual and soft if you want to feel calm throughout the day. If you want to feel invigorated, gradually increase your speed and intensity. Yoga's beauty is that it can be whatever you want it to be!
